Term 2 in sport kickstarted with our Year 11 and 12 Senior sport. Our boys soccer team captained by Roger Moniaga put on a goal fest smashing Lyndhurst by 8, but unfortunately just fell short against Narre P12. The boys represented themselves and the college excellently finishing 3rd overall. We also had a Senior boys AFL team in action compiled of students from Years 10, 11 and 12. Again some excellent performances ending the day with 1 win and 1 loss. Finally, our Senior badminton teams travelled to Clyde Sport Arena. This was a hugely successful day with both our girls teams winning their pools to face off in a final. Congratulations to Alisha, Hrithika, Sandy, Nishi and Aarna who progress to the region stage of the competition on the 24th July.
Our Year 8 Inter School Sports teams headed out on the 14th May to compete against the local schools in the area. The boys and girls soccer teams travelled to Casey Synthetic where the boys remained unbeaten all day, and unfortunately still just missed out on winning their pool. Mehran Eshani captained the side and was a role model for the team all day. The Girls soccer team started off strong smashing Alkira, however missed out on qualifying to regions by Hampton Park.
Our Junior boys AFL team were extremely competitive giving us great hope for the future in AFL winning their pool and getting knocked out in the final game. Our two girls' netball teams demonstrated our strengths in netball with our B team winning their pool to head to the final and missing out. The girls demonstrated superior teamwork and camaraderie all day. Finally the year 8 boys and girls badminton teams competed at the Clyde Sports Arena and enjoyed a great day out, unfortunately no teams will progress to the next stage of the competition.
On April 14th we had 65 students participate in the School Cross Country with the aim of getting into the school team for the Division Stage of the competition. The event took place over 3000m (5000m for the older boys age groups) in the Casey Fields Precinct. Students ran around the Casey Fields ovals and lake for time to see if they can qualify for the division stage of the SSV Cross Country. 57 students have progressed to the division stage and will run for CESC on the 30th May at Casey Fields to challenge for a spot at Region Cross Country. Well done to all runners.
On Monday 20th May we have our Junior Year 7 and 8 Girls AFL team in action as well as our Senior and Intermediate boys' netball teams.
Intermediate sport heads out on Monday 27th May and Year 7 Sport on Wednesday the 5th of June.
