HSC Encore – Year 11 Music

Our Year 11 Music and Entertainment Industry students went on an exciting excursion to HSC Encore at the Sydney Opera House. Delighted by both the performance and the technical intricacies behind the scenes, they were treated to a showcase of exceptional talent from HSC Music students. The students gained valuable insights into the creative processes and technical expertise required for such productions. Encore's focus on recognising the exceptional major works from HSC Music examinations provided a unique learning experience, inspiring our students and fostering their passion for music and entertainment during the excursion.

Year 7 Music

Our Year 7 Music students have taken up the ukulele, focusing on learning chords and strumming patterns while enjoying performing popular songs. Through this hands-on experience, they're not only developing their musical skills but also fostering ensemble awareness and creativity. It's exciting to see their enthusiasm grow as they delve deeper into the world of music.

Year 12 Entertainment

This term, our Year 12 Entertainment Industry students have impressively demonstrated their proficiency in handling vision system equipment and accessories commonly used in the entertainment field. They've shown a solid grasp of the techniques required to plot and operate vision system cues, reflecting their dedication to mastering the technical aspects of the industry. The students are now working towards a series of events in term 2 and preparing for their second round of work experience.

Japanese

Year 12 Japanese students attended an excursion to the Tanken Centre in Kirrawee on the 19th of March. They were immersed in the Japanese language where the Tanken staff spoke completely in Japanese throughout all of the different activities.

They spent the day with students from Kirrawee High School and Northmead High School, competing both with and against them in various language based competitions. They were also given invaluable advice to help prepare them for the HSC examinations.

On the 27th of February and 15th of March, 7C and 7W were lucky enough to participate in an online call with Kashiwa Fourth Junior High School in Japan. Our students asked Kashiwa students their name in Japanese and introduced their own name in Japanese. Then Kashiwa students practiced their English by asking our students questions about school and life.

It was a fantastic opportunity that hopefully will continue well into the future!
