Senior School
It is hard to believe that we are already at the end of Term 1! We have spent the term setting up classroom routines and getting to know one another. We have challenged the students to think deeper, encouraged them to expand their ideas and as a result, have seen some incredible growth!
It has been a jam-packed term with some of the highlights including, meeting and spending time with our buddies, the Phoenix Soar program, Healthy Harold, Interschool Sport, Swimming Sports, THRIVE activities, the Colour Run and the Bush Dance.
Harmony Day
Last Thursday, there was a lot of excitement in the air, as we celebrated Harmony Day with a range of activities. First up, we made friendship bracelets in our house colours, then we took part in an Amazing Race with people from our house groups and finally, we took part in a Colour Run. The happy vibes and community spirit were high and it was fantastic to see everyone getting involved and taking part throughout the day. It is especially lovely to see our 5/6 students take on a leadership role during such activities, helping the younger students in their groups- you do us proud!
Bush Dance
'Heel toe, heel toe, spin your partner, round you go!' What fun we had at the Bush Dance on Tuesday night, as many of our kids, parents and teachers got into the spirit of the night, dancing to their heart's content.
"It was a lot different to the disco, but still so much fun!"- Isla
"It was fun! I liked when we danced down the middle of the line with our partner." - Leila
"It was so much fun! I loved getting to hang out with my mates!" - James
"Hokey Pokey was the best!" - Ike
"We did a lot of these dances at Somers Camp. It was so much fun!" - Harry
Buddies
The 5/6 students really enjoyed making an Easter basket for their buddies and we are so impressed with their creativity! With a sprinkle of magic dust, we hope that something arrives in the baskets overnight! ;)
The Grade 5s are so proud of their Grade 1 buddies who shared their research projects with us- we learnt lots of different facts about a range of topics, including butterflies, sharks, aeroplanes and Africa just to name a few.
Wishing all our families a very happy, safe Easter break and look forward to seeing you all back refreshed for Term 2.
