Middle School

Grades 3 and 4

Highlights of Term 1

There hasn't been a dull moment in term 1 with so many activities in a very short term.

We kicked off the term with our school swimming carnival where the grade 3's and 4's were encouraged to have a go and that they certainly did. By the end of the carnival we had most of the students in the pool having a ball.

We spent some time in the classroom getting our Grade 3s ready for NAPLAN so that they would be comfortable and know what was involved when it came to testing week.

A whole school THRIVE afternoon was a highlight with minute to win it activities and our very first whole school house meetings to kick off our ACPS student wellbeing program. Students loved the challenges racing to get a bickie from their forehead into their mouths without using their hands amongst other challenges.

Students thoroughly enjoyed their soccer clinics during P.E.  where they learned new games and soccer skills.

When it came to testing time, we were so proud of our Grade 3s in their efforts to complete the NAPLAN tests. They respected their peers by working in a quiet environment, doing their best and completing the tests under the required conditions.

Finally we had a huge whole school Harmony Day celebration where the entire school immersed themselves in a day filled with activities aimed at promoting diversity, inclusion, and unity. The festivities reached a crescendo with an afternoon Color Run on the school oval. Students donned their white clothes and completed an obstacle course whilst they dashed through clouds of coloured powder and sprays of water pistols to the sounds of music and laughter. The air was filled with infectious energy as students embraced the spirit of togetherness and celebration and the school community truly came together for this very special event.

What a very special fun filled term - we look forward to what's coming up in Term 2!

From our students:

Oliver in 3D: I loved trying to dodge the colour in the colour run and when Mr Webber and Ms Bailey used the water guns

Isaac in 3D: The colour run was super fun because you got squirted with powder

Harlow in 3D: I liked making a dragon for Lunar new year and the year of the dragon

Alice 4E: The Amazing Race was the best because we got to run around looking for activities and we had to find Mr Webber who was hiding in the shed and a tree (he switched places).

Olive 4E: I really enjoyed baking pancakes in our class because we got to make them ourselves and then we ate them.

Ryder 4E: The colour run was a highlight of the term. I loved them throwing the powder. It was so much fun.

August 3M: I loved the colour run when I was quirted with the colours. It was so much fun.

Taylor 3M: I had so much fun playing hide and seek tiggy with Mr Webber.

Sully 3M: I am waiting for the next "Wish List" wish.

Lacey 3M: I really enjoyed Healthy Harold this term.

Rose 3M: I like it when we use the random sticks every time we need to choose people.
