Our lively and fun lessons have been packed with a variety of short sharp collaborative class activities and tasks that are aligned to the Victorian Curriculum Framework for Drama.
Students learn to take risks, be imaginative, explore alternative solutions, share opinions and develop, practice and refine techniques and reflect on their own and others’ work.
Some highlight activities have been the 'The Terrible Itch.' Students had to perform an itch increasing from 1-10, 10 being an unbearable itch! They thought it was hilarious seeing individuals act out their version of a terrible itch.
Activities are generally accompanied by music. Songs are always specifically chosen to the activity and allow students to be immersed with a variety of different artists and genres.
The Game of Evolution, Giant's Treasure, Traffic lights, Master Master Who am I? Stuck in the Mud, have been some activity highlights.
Master, Master Who am I? Focused on students changing their voices so that others students couldn't guess who they were!
Preps have also been loving using our parachutes.
The Grade 5/6s have all received their roles in our Grade 5/6 productions. Students are working on rehearsing and remembering their lines for Scene 1 and 2. Both scripts are on the class website. Each week students are learning the art of stage productions. They are learning how to act in front of an audience, how to project their voice and face their audience.
