Palm Sunday

Jesus travelled around telling stories (parables) and performing miracles. He also chose some very special people to be his apostles - they were ordinary men, who ended up extraordinary things. From the moment Jesus first was presented in the temple he was an obedient son who listened and grew.

When he knew his time was at hand he sent two disciples ahead of him and made them prepare for his triumphant entry into Jerusalem. He asked them to find a donkey that had never been ridden and even suggested the dialogue he would have with them if asked why he was untying the donkey. As Jesus had suggested the disciples were questioned. Then they took the donkey to Jesus. They threw their cloak on the donkey in preparation for Jesus to ride it.

As he rode on people spread their cloaks on the road. Others cut down palm or olive branches.

When he came near Jerusalem the large crowd began to thank God and praise him. They waved their palms as he rode into the city. Some of the Pharisees in the crowd spoke to him.

Jesus entered Jerursalem and went into the temple, but as it was already late in the day - we went out to Bethany with the twelve disciples.
