Deputy Principal

Dear Sacred Heart Community,

What a wonderful week it has been here at Sacred Hesart, with plenty of celebrating and learning being achieved. Let's get into it!

Certificates~                                                 Achievement and Good Samaritan

Every Whole School Assemble at Sacred Heart we get an opportunity to share our learning with the community as well as celebrate individual achievements from Foundation to Year 6. Two types of certificates are given; a Good Samaritan award for outstanding service to others, as well as an Achivement award for excellence in curriculum areas. We feel it is important to recognise our students who are setting examples in their learning and behaviours at Sacred Heart. Congratulations to those below for being the inaugural winners of these awards in 2026!

Student Leadership

As part of my role as Deputy Principal I have the privilege of working alongside our student leaders for 2026. On Thursday at our whole school assembly we listened to each young person pitch their speech to the school community, stating why they should be elected as one of the school leaders for 2026. All speeches were fantastic, with themes such as listening, sharing, creating, serving and helping being interwoven through all presentations. The students and teachers now have the unenviable task of voting for their students of choice. No matter what the outcome, we have a tremendous group of young people who are committed to improving our school and develop themselves as both leaders and people. Well done guys, and good luck!

Lent Begins

As well as our Student Leaders presenting their speeches, this week marked the beginning of Lent, with Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday being on the calendar of activities. Some of our children were fortunate enough to celebrate Shrove Tuesday, where Catholic traditions mean using all the good stuff in the pantry (eggs, milk, etc) as we prepare for the 40 days of Lent, leading up to Easter. Pancakes were on the menu and from the look of our students below, they were a big hit!
