Check out this amazing interview with our very own Phoebe Davis (Class of 2021).

As part of their International Women's Day series, SpatialSource.com.au interviewed Phoebe about her career working in STEM. Within a month of graduating from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Surveying and Spatial Science, Phoebe was living and working in Switzerland for Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon, as the recipient of the Leica Geosystems and C.R. Kennedy Internship.

In her interview, Phoebe says of her time at Collegiate: "I went to an all-girls school between the ages of 13 and 18. I know there is debate about single sex versus co-ed schools, but this school helped me a great deal in getting onto the path I am now on. There was a strong focus on women in STEM and on students taking non-stereotypical roles. Even during their senior years, students could pursue their individual interests as part of their curricular studies. Students were studying architectural subjects, woodworking, cooking, sewing, physics, university mathematics, outdoor leadership… the list goes on."

"In addition, for an entire year, there was a focus on outdoor education such as bushwalking, camping, caving, canyoning, rock-climbing, white-water rafting, etc. Whilst I may have had some trials and tribulations, and it was definitely not all plain sailing, I had some fantastic teachers, supporters, mentors, friends, challenges and experiences."

We are so proud of Phoebe and all that she has achieved!

It was so wonderful to have the opportunity to catch up with both alumni and current parents at the combined reunion event with The Hutchins School and Launceston Church Grammar School held The China Club in Hong Kong.

Our very own Deb Williamson (Board Member, former Deputy Principal, Alumni) attended the event with our new Head of Boarding and International Relations, Mrs Casey Norton. We are so grateful that both Deb and Casey could make the long journey to connect with such an important part of our community.

Thank you to all those who attended. It was a wonderful evening!

We were honoured to recognise last year's graduates who attained an ATAR  of 95+, ranking among the nation’s top 5% of scorers at the annual Scholars Assembly.

It was a genuine privilege to hear their reflections on the journey since school and the valuable advice they so generously shared with our current scholars.

Congratulations on your outstanding success—thank you for continuing to light the way.

A huge thank you to our amazing Collegiate community!

This sense of connection continued at the Collegiate Fair, held at the Anglesea Campus. Led by our dedicated Parents and Friends Committee and supported by so many generous families, staff, and students, the Fair was a wonderful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together with a shared purpose.

From the smiles on everyone’s faces to the incredible effort behind the scenes, it was a true celebration of our school community. Lots of fun was had by all!

Thank you to every parent, carer, student, and staff member who helped make the day so special. We’re so grateful for your support and enthusiasm!

Year 10's Jess Gardner is riding high in surfing!

Jess has been a Collegiate Academy of Sport (CAS) participant since last year and is thriving despite Tasmania's challenging surfing conditions.

Her recent 3rd in the U18 girls at the Red Herring Pro-Am (sole Tasmanian finalist) and selection for the gruelling Australian BoardRiders Battle—featuring rock jumps, timed waves, and team penalties—showcase her courage and preparation through cross-training.

CAS nurtures her growth with weekly strength training, and learning about Recovery Strategies, Sports Nutrition and Performance.

Congratulations to our talented Collegiate Academy of Sport athlete, Amelie, on an incredible achievement!

Amelie has just completed her fourth year as a Ballkid at the Hobart International Tennis Tournament in January. Last year, she also served as a Ballkid at the Brisbane International and the Billie Jean King Cup.

This year at the Hobart International, she was proudly named 'Topgun Ballgirl'. The surprise announcement came right after the Singles Finals in the stadium—such an exciting moment for her!

As Topgun Ballgirl, Amelie will be a guest of Tennis Australia at the 2027 Australian Open, where she'll join approximately 400 Ballkids for two weeks of action at Melbourne Park. What an amazing opportunity to be a ballkid for the world's best players and her tennis heroes!

A huge well done to Amelie—she's worked so hard, and we're all very proud of her dedication and this wonderful milestone.

We were proud to host a stall and support the Lunar New Year celebration at Parliament Lawns earlier in Term 1. It was a wonderful opportunity to be part of such a vibrant community event, which allowed us to reconnect with existing families and warmly welcome prospective families into conversation. These moments of genuine connection are what make community events so meaningful.

A special thank you to our student volunteers, who represented Collegiate with enthusiasm, warmth, and professionalism throughout the day; you did us proud!

We were also incredibly proud of Anna Wang (Year 9), who performed at the event representing Collegiate. Her performance was truly outstanding and a beautiful contribution to the celebration.

Huge congratulations to Pippa Copeland, Evie Lovell, Hattie Burke, and Lily Clark, who wrapped up their final Under‑14 carnival over the weekend. With wild surf and a restricted program, the girls showed real courage and determination in every event.

A special shout‑out to Lily Clark, who was awarded Junior Life Saver of the Year — an incredible achievement and a fantastic highlight of the day.

We’re so proud of all four athletes as they continue growing and taking on new challenges in surf lifesaving.

Relay for Life 2026

48 of our Year 11 and 12 students, alongside 12 staff members, came together to participate in the Relay for Life at the Domain Athletics Centre.

More than just a walk, the event was a powerful reminder of the importance of community, compassion, and collective action. Our students walked in support of those affected by cancer, celebrating survivors, remembering loved ones, and contributing to vital fundraising efforts for Cancer Council Tasmania.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented Collegiate - with empathy, commitment, and a strong sense of purpose. It was a meaningful experience that reflected our values in action.
