Harmony Week
Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different cultures and backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Harmony Week is all about celebrating the amazing cultures that make up our country. Australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world – from the oldest continuous culture of First Nations peoples, to the 49% of Australians who were born overseas or have a parent who was.
At RHPS we will celebrate Harmony Day on 20th March. Our students will wear orange to school to show their support. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
Our students will participate in a range of fun and engaging activities, which promote cultural understanding and a sense of belonging. They will watch videos, listen to music, create posters, banners and slogans and most of all celebrate the cultures which make up Australia today.
Thanks to all of the parents and families who support our special day, it is much appreciated!
