A Message from the Principal

Dear Families and Friends
It has been wonderful to welcome our students back to campus and to feel the familiar rhythm of College life begin again. These opening weeks carry a particular energy — laughter in the corridors, renewed friendships, and the sense of belonging that quickly settles across the playground.
For some, however, the beginning of the year brings understandable uncertainty. Starting at a new school can feel daunting as students navigate new routines without Mum and Dad, master padlock combinations, locate classrooms, or simply work out where to sit at lunch.
I am deeply grateful to our senior students and staff, whose quiet leadership and generous presence helped ease those early nerves. Through their guidance and encouragement, our newest students have been reassured that they are known, welcomed and supported — not only at the beginning, but throughout their entire journey at the College.
With the transition back into school now behind us, learning is well underway both in and beyond the classroom. Students and teachers are already setting clear goals and intentions for the year ahead. The College is once again vibrant and purposeful — friendships strengthening, confidence growing, and the year beginning to take shape.
In this, our 10th year of operation, we are blessed to journey with our very first cohort of Year 12 students — a milestone that feels both historic and deeply personal for our community. Their Commissioning Ceremony, celebrated alongside parents and staff, was a significant moment in the life of the College. As each student received their Year 12 badge, there was a tangible sense of pride — pride in how far they have come and in the young leaders they are becoming. That badge is more than a symbol; it represents trust. It acknowledges their responsibility to lead with integrity, to model our values, and to carry the spirit of Salvado with confidence and care.
Our inaugural Year 12 Ball was another moment of great pride. The joy, respect and maturity shown by our students throughout the evening was inspiring to witness. They celebrated one another with warmth and inclusivity, conducting themselves in a manner that honoured their families and our College. As the first graduating class in our tenth year, they are already shaping the legacy of Salvado Catholic College. We could not be prouder of the example they are setting or the spirit they bring to this final chapter of their schooling journey.
This week marks the beginning of Lent — a sacred season of reflection, renewal and recommitment. As a College community, we are invited to live our faith more intentionally through prayer, generosity and acts of compassion. In the words of Oscar Romero, “Aspire not to have more, but to be more.” May this Lenten season call each of us to grow in love, in humility, and in service to others.
God Bless!
