From your School Health Nurses: Thomas & Amelia

Hello everyone and welcome to our latest School Health update! If you are new to Applecross SHS this year, the school is a friendly environment, and we encourage you to come and say hello!

We are your School Health Nurses

  • Thomas works Monday – Tuesday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Amelia works Wednesday – Friday, 8:00am – 3:00pm

We’re always happy to meet with students, parents and carers - especially if you are new to Applecross SHS. Students are encouraged to drop in during recess, lunch or before/after school.

The School Health Service

Our goal is to support students’ physical, emotional, and social well-being so they can reach their full potential. We can provide:

  • Health assessments
  • Information and guidance
  • Referrals
  • Support with a wide range of adolescent health concerns
  • Health education and promotion

Confidentiality

We follow the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) confidentiality policy. Information shared by students is kept private unless there is a concern for their or someone else’s safety or wellbeing, or we need to collaborate with others to ensure they receive appropriate support. We always encourage young people to involve their parents or caregivers when significant health issues arise, and we will seek their consent if sharing of information is required.
