Alison and Naomi have been boarding since Year 7 and Year 8 respectively. Now in Year 11, the girls have formed a strong friendship through their shared boarding experience. They have roomed together, played basketball on the same team, and supported one another throughout their time in the Boarding House.
Originally from Wando Vale, Alison has a passion for equestrian pursuits and has her sights set on a future career in science. Naomi, who comes from Ballarat, has a strong love of sport and is also boarding alongside her brother, Nathan. She hopes to pursue a career in nursing, with a particular interest in midwifery.
Boarding has provided Alison and Naomi with the opportunity to develop a lifelong friendship. They have shared holidays together and are already dreaming of future adventures, including the possibility of a 4WD trip around Australia before beginning university.
It has also been wonderful to see both girls embrace the College value of service, frequently volunteering their time to waitress at various College dinners.
For Alison and Naomi, the best part of boarding is the sense of confidence and independence it fosters. They are outstanding ambassadors for both boarding and the College community. Well done, Alison and Naomi.

Our annual paper plane competition took flight this week, with Jack Perrin taking out the winning throw. With Clive and Bailey having won the previous two years, Speirs House once again secured valuable points for the House Competition.

We are delighted to welcome our 2026 GAPPERS, Bella and Eddie, who commenced their Australian experience at College this term. At home they attended Oakham College, located in southern England, which partners with us in our GAP exchange program.
Bella is a keen hockey player who has been boarding since the age of seven. As Oakham College’s Head Girl in 2024, she is also aspiring to become a teacher, making her time at the College a perfect stepping stone toward her future career.
Eddie has a strong passion for Geography and sees exploring the Australian continent as the ideal preparation for his future university studies at Manchester University.
We warmly welcome Bella and Eddie and wish them every success in the Boarding House, Senior School, and Junior School over the next six months.
