YEAR 10-12 NEWS

Year 10
In Week 11, Term 2, the Year 10 Outdoor Recreation class had the opportunity to participate in a mountain biking excursion at the You Yangs Regional Park. This experience was part of their Outdoor Education program and gave students the chance to challenge themselves physically while developing key skills in resilience, teamwork, and bike handling. Throughout the day, students navigated a variety of trails with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, showing support for one another and embracing outdoor learning.
It was pleasing to note that all students represented Western Heights College in an exemplary manner. Their respectful behaviour, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety were consistently noted by staff and members of GORATS. Experiences like this help build confidence and connection, and it was fantastic to see our students making the most of the opportunity.
Thanks,
Mr Parker
Year 12
Welcome back from the mid-year break for all our year 12 students!
Term three is always a demanding term for our students as we begin the final units of their VCE.
In terms of things to do, we suggest that all students should keep an eye out for University, TAFE and other educational open days, which will be emailed through by the college’s pathways team. Even if there are no plans on going to further education, sometimes further information may help settle plans, or spark an idea that can lead to a future plan.
Several other sessions will be held this term, including VTAC application workshops, SEAS applications etc and more information will be put out as times are set.
We are all looking forward to the year 12 Celebration to be held next week at the City of Geelong Bowls club. Thanks to all those who are helping organise this function, especially Amanda Dickson. A lot of conversations about dresses this week (and suits!) so hopefully some great photos for the next bulletin.
Again, with a busy schedule – keep warm and healthy – stay inside as we battle the last of winter.
