A message from the Principal

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope everyone enjoyed the chance to step away from the usual school routines over the break and spend some quality time with family and friends. It’s been wonderful to see our students and families return to SKiPPS looking refreshed and ready for what promises to be a fantastic second half of the school year.
We’ve certainly hit the ground running with Parent Teacher Interviews taking place this week. Thank you to all the parents and carers who made time to meet with our teachers and engage so positively in these important conversations. The interviews provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the Semester 1 reports that went home at the end of last term, and to collaborate on learning goals and strategies for the months ahead.
It was especially heartening to hear from both teachers and families about the respectful and meaningful discussions that took place and the strong sense of support for the learning progress being made by all students.
Families of students in Years 3 and 5 also received NAPLAN results this week—either during interviews or sent home. We’re very proud of the results, particularly those in Year 3, which were truly outstanding. We’ll share further insights and context around these results in a future newsletter.
Aside from interviews, Term 3 has already had a dynamic start! We’ve celebrated NAIDOC Week with a beautiful day of learning and cultural appreciation, welcomed new staff members to our team, and launched a new schoolwide approach to positive behaviour—more on that later in this newsletter.
Looking ahead, we’re excited about some major highlights on the horizon, including our sold-out SKiPPS Trivia Night, the Orchestra Soirée, and a whole host of engaging events and learning experiences for our students.
Next week, we’ll also be sharing some important updates about changes to how we report on student learning moving forward.
Here’s to a productive and inspiring Term 3!
