What's On In Foundation

Police Visit
This term Foundation students are exploring who our community helpers are, and how they can help us and others. Students were so excited, wearing their own Police Officer hats, to welcome Sergeant Verity Newport to our school. She explained all the ways that Police Officers can help. We learnt that there are police who ride horses, motorbikes, jet skis and even travelled on boats! Police dogs are also very helpful when tracking down ‘bad guys’ and even finding people who are lost.
A highlight was seeing some equipment, especially the handcuffs! Excited students headed outside to explore the police car, where they sat inside and listened to the siren.
Sergeant Newport also checked that we knew to call 000 in case of an emergency. Some police homework for us was to learn our home address so help can arrive quickly!
100 Days of School
Friday 1st August was a very special day for our Foundation students as they reached the milestone of 100 days of school! They started the day with a disco, complete with streamers, balloons and glow sticks! We were blown away with the colourful and creative 100 t-shirts that were carefully made. It was lovely to see students proudly showing off their designs.
The highlight of the day was performing for family and friends and eating a special afternoon tea. Students proudly showed off their work and then got busy using 100 cubes to make an awesome creation.
Lisa and I are so proud of all that our students have achieved in their first 100 days, and we simply can’t wait to see them continue to shine as the year progresses!
A big thank you to our wonderful families that came along to cheer our students on, and a big thanks to our Grade 6 Leaders who assisted with the ceremony.
