Careers & Pathways - Year 12
Over the past two weeks, our Year 12 students have attended Introduction to VTAC assemblies, where they were guided through the process of applying for tertiary education in 2026 via the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).
These sessions covered key information about creating a VTAC account, researching and selecting course preferences, and understanding the different application requirements. A particular focus was placed on the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS), including the four SEAS categories, eligibility criteria, and the importance of providing appropriate documentation.
Next week, all Year 12 students will begin registering for VTAC during Explore, with support from Mrs Dennison and Mr Knowles. This is a critical step in the application process and one that ensures students are set up correctly from the start.
Students are reminded to bring the following to their VTAC registration session:
Laptop
Mobile phone (required for multi-factor authentication)
USI (Unique Student Identifier) – this can be created or retrieved at usi.gov.au
Visa or residency details, if applicable
We’re excited to support our Year 12s as they take this important step toward their post-school pathways, and we remind students to please book an appointment with us via Compass Conferences to discuss their plans for 2026 and beyond.
Open Days & Early Entry Programs
A reminder to all students, especially those in Years 10–12, to take advantage of university and TAFE Open Days happening throughout July and August. Open Days are a great chance to visit campuses, ask questions, and get a real feel for different courses, facilities, and student life.
Make sure you check the Open Days information document below - it includes key dates, registration links, and tips on how to get the most out of your visit.
Students are also encouraged to explore Early Entry programs, which some institutions offer based on Year 11 results, school recommendations, or personal statements. These can be a great way to reduce stress later in the year and secure a place early. A document is shared below, outlining the opportunities available.
If you have any questions or need help applying, don’t hesitate to reach out via Teams.
The following website has a link of the various Open Days and their details:
Term 3 of Year 12 is extremely busy, but with the right preparation, it’s also exciting. We look forward to supporting our students every step of the way.
