SAPSASA Soccer Representatives – Layla and Isabelle

Congratulations to Layla and Isabelle, who were recently presented with their kits as representatives of the Salisbury East district in the SAPSASA Metro Soccer Championships! Adding a special touch to the occasion, former Good Shepherd student and current Adelaide United player, Katie Bowler, presented the team with their kits (Fun fact - Katie also proudly represented Salisbury East in SAPSASA soccer during her time at Good Shepherd!)

We wish Layla and Isabelle all the best for the championships and look forward to hearing how the team performs.

GS Warriors (Basketball)

24/07/25 & 31/07/2025

The GS Warriors have started the Semester 2 season well with two strong wins against the two Pedare teams, Lightning and Thunder respectively.

Game one against the Lightning was a grand final rematch, however, the Lightning have lost a couple of players from semester 1.  The game started slow with both teams struggling to find a rhythm. The score was close midway through the first half with the Warriors leading 12-10. From there the team flicked a switch and took them game to a new level outscoring the Lightning 11-1 for the remainder of the half to lead 23-11 at halftime.  The second half was a one sided affair with our strong defence and consistent team work on show to win our first game 39-24.

The second game against the Thunder was a very one-sided affair with our team cohesion in defence and offence hitting a new level.  The team worked very hard for each other without the ball stopping, stopping the other team on numerous occasions from creating scoring chances, and on offence, it was great to see our players getting just as excited to provide a great pass for someone to score as they would if they were scoring the basket themselves.  The game finished 51-13.
