Organisation

Specialists
Our Specialist days remain the same for Term 3.
Tuesday - Physical Education (PE)
Wednesday - Visual Arts and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
Thursday - Italian each odd week.
Friday - Performing Arts each even week.
All Foundation students will continue to participate in our PMP (Perceptual Motor Program). From Term 3, this will be taking place on Mondays only. The students can now wear their sports uniform for PMP. We will be continuing to remove their shoes and socks. We would appreciate it if you could practice this at home and please make sure their shoes and socks are clearly labelled.
Please note: This means that ALL Foundation students need to wear their sports uniforms on MONDAY (PMP) & TUESDAY (for PE).
Production
Students will have a STOMP lesson each week from Weeks 5-8. This will be to teach each class their performative dance for our school concert.
Library Day
We are so excited that our library refurbishment is complete! We will continue to visit the library on Fridays so please make sure your child has their library book to return and their library bag with them.
Take Home Reading
As we progress through our Little Learners stages, new heart words are introduced that link to specific books, so students will be introduced to these gradually as they read each text - these will be sent home with their corresponding books. As they continue to have the same book for a full week, there are many ways you can use this text at home. For the first day, you might find it beneficial to work only with the heart words and speed words for that book, before reading the book in the following days. Some other ways you can extend their learning is by using the book for spelling practise - reading out speed words or sentences for your child to write, and also getting them to read to you with you writing what they say, for them to check if they are reading clearly enough for you to write the correct sentence. You can also challenge your child to find a specific word within a page or full book, or ask them specific questions where they need to scan to find the answer in the book. You can also use their heart words and speed words for games like memory or go fish, by writing the words out onto pieces of paper at home.
