Dear parents and carers
Last week’s Public Education Week Open Day was one of the highlights of our school year. We are so proud of what we achieve for every one of our students and love the opportunity to share our classrooms and our student’s talents with you.
It was a wonderful opportunity for parents, carers, and the community to see our students' hard work and achievements, engage with teachers, and participate in various activities highlighting our curriculum. Thank you to everyone who came to the day as well as our teachers who organised the event, the assembly and the performances.
Our Parent-Teacher Interviews start this week. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to meet with teachers to discuss their child’s progress, strengths, and areas for improvement. We encourage all parents to attend and engage in these valuable conversations to support their child’s education. Please check the date and time of your scheduled meeting. It is important that our staff keep to the booking schedule. If you are unable to attend, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible.
Congratulations to our Kindergarten students on reaching an exciting milestone – 100 Days of Kindergarten! To celebrate this achievement, we held a special event today where students were able to dress as a 100 year old! Students will participate in fun activities this week that reflect their learning journey so far. Come and see their adorable artworks at the office as well.
This week we had our Student Leadership Camp. This camp is designed to empower our student leaders with skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Students engaged in various activities that promoted leadership and personal growth. We believe this experience will inspire our students to take initiative and make a positive difference in our school community.
We are excited to welcome 11 students from Taiwan who will be joining our Year 6 classrooms for a four-week immersive experience. During their time here, they will not only participate in regular classroom activities but also engage in a variety of enriching experiences that extend beyond the classroom including our MeadowBots and cooking clubs.
Our program includes a range of school and out-of-school activities designed to enhance their cultural exchange and learning. For instance, the students will embark on an excursion to Taronga Zoo, where they will have the opportunity to learn about Australia's unique wildlife and conservation efforts. Additionally, they will visit the city, where they can explore its rich history and vibrant culture.
These activities aim to foster connections between our students and their Taiwanese peers, promoting mutual understanding and friendship through shared experiences.
As we move into the upcoming term, we have an exciting range of activities and learning experiences planned for all year groups. Events include our Athletics Carnivals, Crazy Hair Day, Creative Arts Night, and Ancestor Appreciation Day. The variety of events ensure that each student has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially. We are committed to creating a supportive and enriching environment that fosters growth and curiosity. Details of all activities will be promoted via the school newsletter, Sentral Parent app and the school’s social media account on Facebook.
