School Disco

School Disco - Friday 22 August

This year we have an exciting new venue and new format for our School Disco! 

Due to the building works at school, we have booked the Macleod Football Netball Club for the School Disco and we’ve decided to hold a “Bowls, Beers and Bangers” event for parents and families at the nearby Rosanna Bowling Club at the exact same time!! While the kids have fun at the disco, their parents, carers and siblings are invited to mingle and meet each other as we build on our HPS community. All HPS families are welcome!! 

SCHOOL DISCO:

Foundation - Grade 2 Disco: 5.00 - 5.45pm

Grade 3/4 Disco:  6.15 - 7.00pm

Grade 5/6 Disco:  7.30-8.30pm

BOWLS, BEERS & BANGERS:

Rosanna Bowling Club

3 Strasbourg Road

5.00pm until late

Drinks at bar prices 

BBQ - gold coin donation 

VOLUNTEERS:

To make this event happen we need at least TEN PARENT VOLUNTEERS per Disco and 4-5 volunteers for the family event. 

Volunteering at the Disco is a really fun way to meet new parents and also a great way to support your child if they have any worries or fears about being at a noisy disco! Due to the change of venue, we unfortunately do not have access to any outdoor space or break out quiet room this year. We will have access to the kitchen and a small outdoor balcony - if any child needs some time out, we will endeavour to support them as best we can. Assistant Principal Helen Thomas will be present for the whole event to offer supervision and support to the students and Emma-Jane Stabb (local GP and HPS parent) will be manning the First Aid station in the kitchen area for the whole event. 

All volunteers must have a valid Working With Children Check as well as completed the volunteer induction (available in Compass).

We have a fantastic team of parent volunteers who have been working hard to plan this awesome event, as well as our Disco Decorating team to make it a really special night for all the kids! We’ve booked the same DJ as last year who was really fun and responsive to the kid’s music choices, everyone loved him!
