Grade 4 girls very enthusiastic about house colours day!

House Colours Day

Well done to our Gordon House Captains for organising such a great initiative.

Prep term highlight: Billy, Rian, Marlowe, Martina

Playing on the monkey bars and playing soccer with friends is the best.

Learning numbers – we can count up to 100 and add more now. We love playing Pool Maths and Get Out of My House. We have been writing and reading in lots of different ways. We have been using magnets to make words and have even been writing some tricky sentences.

We have loved learning about sea animals. Going to the aquarium was so much fun. We even read books like Snail and the Whale to learn more about different animals in the sea.

Grades 1&2 highlight: Ruby, Sam, Miles, Ava

We have learnt so many animal facts, we went to the zoo and even got to research our own animal. That was fun.

I know a lot more about 3D shapes and I loved using playdough and sticks to make them. We read great books like Concrete Garden and have been getting better at writing and spelling. Some of us are code masters and know all 5 sounds for OUGH!

We love playing with our friends in the playground, on the monkey bars and running around playing games.

3/4 Hub

"Ewwwww what's that smell???"

Ms Wendy loves a good experiment. But this one was truly revolting. Various types of food have been slowly rotting away since the start of term 1 and grade 3 students were able to see AND SMELL the absolutely revolting results.

Grades 3&4 highlight: 4H, Lenny, Sia, Hawk and Aleksei

Enrichment@BBPS was so much fun. In cooking class we researched Chinese, Japanese and Indian food and enjoyed making and eating fried rice, gyoza and butter chicken. We loved making crystals and learnt all about the different types of rocks. We were proud of ourselves for completing the cross country. We've been learning lots of new words, especially through the Weighty Word Book in grade 3, we can't wait to read book 2. In Grade 3 we've enjoyed relaxing and listening to our teachers read ‘Hatchet’ and learning all about survival skills - making connections and predictions and tuning into new vocabulary. Grade 4 are also excited for those students who have received their pen licence. We are ending our term with our robot battle, we have loved our weekly STEM sessions and getting to work in a team.

Grade 5/6 highlight: Ori, Quinn, Sophie, Zoe, Tess, David

We have loved Enrichment@BBPS. Quinn got to do a stop motion, and she and her partner were really pleased with how the project finished. We've loved learning about our Australian history and creating our own fables. We also got to be directors and played around with video camera angles to create the maximum effect on a chosen theme. Ori’s chosen theme was bravery. We've also loved into inter-school school sport and buddies. We have been helping our buddies with an animal project, it is much harder than we thought to get them to put the information into their own words. We've been to the museum and Grade 6 successfully completed their leadership action projects. In Grade 6 we learnt a whole heap of new formulas in maths, grappled with algebra, and are now applying our knowledge to tools like Google Sheets.
