IB SCUBA TRIP

SCUBA DIVING WITH PENGUINS & PUFFER FISH

Scuba diving in Portsea - penguins and puffer fish.

On Monday the 18th of March, the year 12 IB class drove down to Portsea to go scuba diving for a CAS experience! It was such an amazing experience and we are all very grateful to go, even if we were a bit nervous!

We met at school bright and early and filed into the school bus, before starting the drive down. We drove along the beach – taking in the coastal views – before arriving at Discover Sea Dragons’ training pool. We got suited up – flippers and all – and got into the pool so we could learn the important hand gestures and skills we would need when we got into the ocean. Soon after, we were ready to face the ocean!

We took a quick break – grabbing lunch all together at the Portsea Hotel – before meeting at the Portsea pier to get back into our wetsuits. We were separated into two groups – the first group went in while the second group sat on the shore and soaked up the sun! Both groups saw a variety of animals from sea dragons to pufferfish – some students even saw a penguin!

This was such a unique experience and we are all very grateful to have been able to take part in it!
