DEBATING

On Wednesday last week, we had three teams participate in debating – a year 9, year 11 and year 12 team who were up against Brighton Grammar. 

They walked in confidently and prepared with their arguments and counterpoints ready to go. 

The year 9 team were debating whether school should be made into a four-day week but unfortunately Brighton Grammar taking the victory mere points ahead. It was a very close call.

The year 11 team battled over the topic of whether we as a society regret having self-service checkouts and unfortunately lost this one but not without merit!

Finally, it was a sweet victory for the year 12 team, debating a secret topic that they had to prepare for just one hour before! With many great speaking points, Nathan Stanford won the speaker of the night.
