YEAR 8 MEDIA

Year 8 Media – Photography Basics – Teacher Ms. Eeckhoudt

Exploring the World through a lens! Year 8 Media Students Shine in Photography Basics.

In the dynamic subject of Media, the journey often begins with a single click of the camera shutter. Term 1 saw our enthusiastic Year 8 Media students delving deep into the topic: photography basics. With curiosity as their compass and creativity as their guide, they embarked on an illuminating exploration of this art form.

Throughout the term, our budding photographers were immersed in a rich tapestry of learning. They honed their skills, mastered techniques, and delved into the captivating narratives behind the lens by researching and reporting on renowned photographers. From the timeless works of Dianne Arbus to the innovative vision of Bella Kotak.

With newfound knowledge and inspiration, our students then embarked on their own photographic journey. Armed with passion and purpose, they meticulously planned, composed, and captured their own original images, each reflecting their unique perspective and chosen genre. From car photography to portraits, from landscapes to street photography, their creations illuminated the breadth and depth of their talent.

The results? Simply astounding. Each student poured their heart and soul into their work, showcasing not only technical ability but also a keen eye for storytelling through imagery.

Choosing Media as a subject will open doors to a world of discovery and possibility. Whether nurturing a passion for photography, film making, animation or simply seeking to cultivate media skills, this pathway offers a gateway to self-expression and personal growth. Through Media, we not only capture moments but also shape narratives, forging connections that resonate across all facets of life.

Well done on the amazing achievements of all our Year 8 Media students! Aren’t their photos amazing?
