LANGUAGE CENTRE

Making ANZAC biscuits

The Language Centre students were reintroduced to the Food Studies kitchen after the holidays and were excited to make Anzac Biscuits. They revised their understanding of how to safely and hygienically work in the kitchen. They revised knowing how to safely and correctly operate the oven. They mastered learning how to correctly measure ingredients using appropriate equipment. They were rewarded with lovely crunchy Anzac Biscuits for their morning tea.

Science

In Science, students completed the Density tower experiment, where they investigated how liquids of different densities would behave when added to a single test tube. We also made a bicarbonate volcano, where the students experimented with an acid-base reaction to simulate the release of carbon dioxide in a volcanic eruption. The students each made their own volcanoes from play-dough.
