Secondary 11/12

Team Leader's Message

Term 2

Term 2 has been another busy term in the Secondary 11/12 VPC section.

All students have been actively participating in their projects and making significant progress towards the achievement of their Victorian Pathways Certificates. All of our current projects are fully integrated across the curriculum, with daily programs meeting outcomes in Literacy, Numeracy, Personal Development Skills and Work Related Skills.

Getting out in the community and applying these skills in real world situations provides students with a deeper understanding of concepts and supports a willingness from students to get more involved in the process of their learning. In addition, as part of their certificates, our students also engage in Vocational Education and Training (VET). Students choose which course to enrol in from a selected group of programs that run every Wednesday and are supported by Concord School staff and it affords our students every opportunity for success.

The VET programs we are running this year are Certificate II in Cookery, Sport and Recreation and Construction partial completion, As well as full completion of Certificate II in Creative Industries, Salon Assistant, Active Volunteering, Workplace Skills (Certificate I and II), and a small group of students are undertaking a Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Pathways over 2 years. All programs are nationally recognised courses and are developed by registered training organisations (RTO’s). This Term's newsletter showcases those programs and our wonderful students working hard. The students gain valuable skills and develop their confidence working with trainers and learning new skills. We are extremely proud of our students and the hard work they put in.

Please enjoy.
