Business Management Market Day

On Tuesday 30th April the two Year 11 Business Management classes and Year 9 Enterprising People class put their business plan and partnerships into action when they ran a market day. Students of all year levels had the opportunity to purchase sweet treats such as honey joy pods, ice-creams, donuts, lolly bags, pancakes and brownies and savoury treats like sausages, gourmet hot dogs and hamburgers. Drinks that were on offer included: spiders, milkshakes, bubble tea and mocktails. There was even a pie throw at some of the teachers! The students learnt some valuable lessons about supply and demand, how to reduce wastage, location of a business and quality control. Thank you to all the students and staff who supported the event. We will take our learnings to improve for next time. A profit of approximately $600 dollars will be donated to a charity of the student’s choice.

Following this, students will analyse the system BIOS to ensure their PCs are working properly and then they will install an operating system so that they will be functional PCs. Year 11 Hike

The Year 10 and 11 students from Unit 1 Outdoor and Environmental Studies travelled up to Falls Creek for a three day hike in the first week of Term 2. There was blue skies, beautiful views and very COLD mornings!  Highlights of the route included Pretty Valley Pondage, Cope Hut, Wallace’s Hut- the oldest cattlemen’s hut in the Victorian Alps, and an attempt to climb off track up to Mount Cope.

The students and staff had a lot of fun, an epic game of spotlight at Cope Hut, climbing every available tree, rock and other big thing, and finding large rocks to carry for the hike. Lots of learning, and lots of memories from a great trip!!
