What a week!

The music program has been busy this week doing what they do best, performing.

On Wednesday evening the senior band performed at the School Open Night. They gave a wonderful performance to a packed LRC. Thank you to the students and families for their attendance and helping with the set up and packing up. 

On Thursday night we had our first big concert for the year, the Autumn Concert. This was the first concert at BSC for our new musicians who all participated with great enthusiasm. Congratulations to all the students for their wonderful performances. Special thanks go to Taj and Jarno for compering, Tony Roberts for his beautifully warm welcome, Juliette for her beautiful program cover, students from the senior band for front of house and student management duties, students who set up chairs in the hall, and all the families who provided supper and managed the clearing up. The audience certainly enjoyed a most entertaining and varied night of great music making.

CATs

CAT stands for common assessment task. Over the next few weeks, all the instrumental music students will be preparing and performing a technical work ‘CAT’ in their lessons. Tasks will be set by the instrumental music teachers to suit the student’s level. Teachers will report on the CATs on Compass. 

Instrument Hire Forms

There are still a few outstanding instrument hire forms. These were posted to families last term so please return them to the music centre as soon as possible. Any queries may be directed to Kim Green in the music centre.
