Principal's Message

To our College Community,

My sincere thanks for the commitment and support you provide to our students and staff – it means a lot and makes a positive difference every day.

What a fantastic couple of weeks we have had at our College with many outstanding events in and out of school connecting students to community.

A few highlights for me were:

The excursion to the Trade and Tech Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre for 30 female students from Years 10 – 12. The girls engaged with trades and technology, including emerging ‘tradetech’ such as digital welding. Our VM leader Emily Davie said the day was a success, opening doors and creating pathways. Well one to the staff and girls involved. Please watch out for more information about the Expo in the next newsletter.

Another highlight was the Year 7 Information Evening on Wednesday night. We had students and parents from our local primary schools exploring around our College, visiting our facilities and engaging with staff. The evening concluded with reflections from our school captains and Year 7 student leaders and a performance from our concert band. An evening that showcased the many layers of our College and high quality of our students. Well done to the Year 7 team and to the KLA staff that supported.

Finally, I had the privilege of attending the College Instrumental Music Department’s Autumn Concert in Boucher Hall on Thursday. This was an evening of outstanding students and staff performing together to create some musical magic. We have a superb music department that is well led by Kim Green. Students flourish in a culture of support and collaboration and while they are making great music, they are also making great memories, great friends and positive pathways. My sincere thanks to the students and staff in our College Instrumental Music program for a great night.

Kindest to all.
