From the Principal

Welcome to Term Two

We are so glad to see you all return for a new term. 

This term we welcome Rute and her family, joining us in Year 5 Harris. We also welcome pre-service teachers as they spend time with their mentor teachers developing their craft in preparation for entry into the profession. 

Welcome to: Fei Chen (in Reception Sheahan), Cindy Huynh (in 3 Fisher) and Massimo Paradiso (in 3 Sheedy).

Staff Professional Learning

To begin this term, our staff worked together on Monday 29 April for professional learning.

We began the day with some training for Zones of Regulation with all staff, including administration and ancillary staff, teachers, classroom LSOs, and several SPLASH staff. This training ensures that all staff members in the school are equipped with the same language to listen to children and support them in their social-emotional regulation and learning. 

Following this training, we spent time as an entire staff team working through continued development and refinement of school values. To complete the day, our teaching staff worked through professional learning and professional conversations in literacy, specifically Writer's Workshop.

These days are valuable times that we can all be in the same room as a staff team to ensure that we continue to learn and develop, and I am grateful to families for their understanding as we take these opportunities for staff development through the year.

Staff Celebrations

Congratulations to Miss Harris for her wedding to Cameron over the holidays. We look forward to her returning in Week 2.

We celebrate with Emma and Jack Brokate as they recently welcomed baby Elsie, sister to Airlie. All are doing well and we pray for blessings for the family in the coming weeks and months.
