Principal's Report

Jane Briffa | Principal

Dear SEPS Families,

Welcome to Week 4!

MOTHERS DAY

A huge thank you to the Katie and Danielle (SEPS Social) and their team of volunteer helpers for organising the Mother’s Day Stall and the lovely breakfast this week. The Mother’s Day Stall was so beautifully set up and the children were all so excited to go shopping on Tuesday. I am sure there will be some very special moments on Sunday morning. The breakfast was very well attended, and we hope that you all had a lovely time catching up with each other. I had to smile when a couple of children came to buy a hot chocolate from the coffee van because their mums were all too busy talking to each other and ‘ignoring them’. I would like to also thank Mrs Stainforth’s daughter, Niamh, for lending her barista expertise in the coffee van.

These events could not happen without the dedication and passion of a team of wonderful parents and the support that many offer by volunteering at various times. It was great to see so many dads jump in on Thursday to support the breakfast, many hands definitely help to lighten the load. Time is the biggest asset that we all have and the hardest one to find more of, so making some time to help at school is truly appreciated. Thank you!! Please find more highlights in the SEPS social tab.

PREP TRANSITION

Enrolments are now open for 2025. This week we had another well-attended school tour for potential families starting children in Foundation 2025. Today we held our first storytime session. It was lovely meeting our first group of preschoolers, most of whom already have siblings here. They eagerly joined in to read our story and made lovely caterpillars to take home. Storytime is open to any preschool children, regardless of whether they intend on enrolling at SEPS or not. It is just another opportunity for them to become more familiar with ‘big school’. If you have friends or neighbours who have children starting school next year, please feel free to share this information with them. If you have children starting school next year, please submit your enrolment forms to the office as soon as possible.

Wishing you all a wonderful day on Sunday. Whether it is being a mum, a grandmother, an aunty, a special friend or remembering those who are no longer with us, we hope it is an opportunity to celebrate all the special women in your life.

Have a great fortnight ahead,

Jane Briffa
