Year Three/Four News

The Brady Building has been buzzing with energy since the students returned last week for Term 2. All classes have settled back into their routines seamlessly, including setting up for success at the beginning of the day as well as engaging in home reading and recording reading in their diaries to share with their teachers.

In Week 1, students started learning about fractions in Maths. We have revised our understanding of key vocabulary, including what the numerator and the denominator are, how to recognise and model these fractions and investigating equivalent fractions. This week, we have continued to develop our understanding of fractions, with the students applying their understanding to finding fractions in a collection and on a number line.

Family challenge: What fractions can you find in real life? Take a picture and share with your classroom teacher on Seesaw the fractions you can discover at home!

A couple of reminders now from the 3/4 Team:

  • Permission forms are due to be returned for our excursion to Sovereign Hill. If these can be brought in at your earliest convenience it would be very much appreciated to support staff in their planning process.
  • As we move into the colder months, please ensure students are sent to school with jumpers that are clearly labelled.
