This week 3S learnt all about composting by making mini compost bins in glass jars. This activity is an excellent way to visually see the changes that occur in a compost bin over time.
We have 12 compost bins and 3 worm farms in our garden.
We’re very proud of our composting efforts at WEPS. All classroom fruit and vegetable scraps, garden and grass clippings, leaves and cardboard are composted at school. We also collect coffee grounds from the local coffee van and newspapers from the milk bar, all of which is diverted from recycling facilities and landfill.
