Principal's Report

Rohan Cooper

Welcome back to school for Term 2. I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable school holiday period and are ready for a great term of learning. We have camps, excursions and sporting events either already underway or imminent, and staff are already noting important assessments as we move into the first student reporting cycle of the year. Our school leaders have been working on our upcoming School Review, a process that I would like to explain to you in more depth in this article. Additionally, our State Minister for Education, The Hon. Ben Carroll MP, has recorded a message for us all as the school term begins. Please take the time to view the full message here

Later this year, our school will participate in our Department of Education School Review. All Victorian Schools have a cycle of Strategic Planning and Review, with our most recent Review and Plan having been completed in 2020.

Stakeholder engagement is critical to the School Review process. Our school leadership team, (in a Department setting, called a ‘School Improvement Team’ or ‘SIT Team’) will facilitate sessions with students, staff and the community this term, to help inform the review of our achievement against the goals and targets of our previous Strategic Plan. Additionally, we will collect feedback on areas of focus for our new plan.

We would like to invite our families to attend one of the following sessions:

School Review Session 1

Monday 20th May @ 9:05am, School Hall.

School Review Session 2

Tuesday 21st May @ 5:30pm, Senior Learning Centre

Please note that these sessions will be identical and as such, please do not feel any obligation to attend both! Light refreshments will be available, and we will send a booking form for each event shortly.

Additionally and following-on from these sessions, we will also send an online survey to all families to collect further feedback.

We look forward to this being a positive experience for our broader school community and supportive in setting a clear direction for our next Strategic Planning cycle.

Many of our families will be celebrating Passover (Pesach), beginning with the first Seder on the evening of Monday 22nd April. Best wishes to our families who will be observing this special celebration.

Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.
