Visual Arts - Prep to Year 3
Bell VA
This Term in Visual Arts, we have been exploring the world of colour!
Student from prep to year three have been looking at how artists use different colours to create a range of feelings within their artwork.
We have looked at creating contrast, developing our understanding of colour mixing, and how we can make the biggest impact with the colours we select for our works of art.
This term the preps have been working hard to create a range of primary colour master pieces. They have looked at how rainbows create light and the spectrum of colours we see. They have explorded how different colours are made and mixed as well as how artists classify and group different colours together including primary, secondary colours.

The year 1/2's have taken a deep dive into the world of colour and how artists use these to create feeling and emotion within their artwork. They have looked at how warm and cool colours can work together and how colour or a lack of colour can change how we feel or interpret an artwork.

In year three, students have focused on how colours can be categorised in a range of different ways. Looking at and applying their understanding of the colour wheel, cool and warm colours as well as complimentary colours, students have designed a range of engaging art pieces through multi-medium projects.
