NCCD and Supporting Students with Disability
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting all learners at St Brigid’s, each year we participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). This process helps schools better understand and support the needs of students who may require adjustments to access learning on the same basis as their peers. The information below provides an overview of the NCCD process and what it may mean for your child. If you have any questions regarding your child’s learning needs or learning, please feel free to contact our Wellbeing and Learning Diversity Leader Christine Thredgold.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
At St Brigid’s, students engage in regular SEL lessons. The main resource we use is Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships. These learning materials cover eight social and emotional learning topics across all levels of primary education. The lessons cover topics such as: Personal Strengths, Positive Coping, Problem Solving, Stress Management, Help Seeking and Positive Relationships.
SEL in the 3/4 Classrooms
The Year 3/4 students have been learning about respect. In their classes, they discussed the Circle of Respect and explored what respect feels like, looks like, and sounds like at home, in the community, and at school.
Students shared ideas about how they can demonstrate respect in their everyday lives and reflected on the importance of treating others with kindness and consideration. They discussed practical ways to show respect to their peers, family members, teachers, and themselves, and considered how respectful actions help to build positive relationships and a supportive learning environment.
