Student Services: Careers

Term 2 is sailing along and suddenly we find ourselves over the halfway mark. Appointments are ramping up in careers as students start to seriously consider their plans for 2027 and beyond.

YEAR 10 CAREERS WORKSHOP

It was great to welcome Tyson Day from Arrive and Thrive last Wednesday to talk with our Year 10 cohort about careers and their own personal brand. Students explored the concept of personal brand, networking and LinkedIn. They were asked to investigate their digital footprint and this week in Connect students will continue with some follow up activities.

YEAR 12 ‘UNSERIOUS CAREERS’ PRESENTATION

Alana Kilmartin presented to our Year 12 cohort yesterday. The session was designed to spark imagination and start thinking about life after school. Alana is the author of the book ‘Unserious Careers’ which invites students to be ambitious in navigating the beginning of their career journey and take action to set themselves up for success. Thanks to all the students who attended and participated – we were so lucky to have Alana here at NHS

YEAR 10 WORK EXPERIENCE

A reminder that students wishing to undertake Work Experience must follow the school process for this. Applications are due 16 days prior to the commencement of placement and must be hand delivered to the Careers office before school, recess or lunchtime. More information can be found on the Careers Channel in Teams and in School Documentation on Compass.
