Year 7-11 Art

There’s plenty to report from the Art Department as we reach the halfway point of Term 2! We wanted to share a brief overview of some happenings over the last few weeks.
Year 7 Art
Year 7s have been busy creating ceramics! The tiles, that represent different aspects of life at NHS in our centenary year, are going to be included in the redesign of the front of the school.
Year 8 VCD
Year 8 VCD students are starting to put their technical drawings skills to work as they construct two-point perspective cities.
Year 9 Sculpture
Year 9 Sculpture are working hard on the armatures of their papier mache sculptures, with some students working collaboratively on large scale pieces.
Year 10 Ceramics
Year 10 Ceramics have been out on an excursion to the Potter Museum at Melbourne University to gain some experience in a new gallery setting and see a variety of sculptural works. Their sgraffito pieces from last term are also out of the kiln!
Year 11 Media
Year 11 Media students have made some ads for vacuum cleaners. The challenge was to advertise a vacuum through photos or billboard ads without showing the object itself!
All these wonderful projects and more will be on display at our end of year Art Show!
