Senior Division Soccer Girls
On Tuesday the 12th of May the Senior girls soccer team headed out to DISC for some of their final rounds of division soccer. The girls started strong against William Ruthven, winning 8-0 and getting hyped for the day! They went on to play Lalor unfortunately losing, and then coming up short against a strong Preston team to end the day.
The girls showed great enthusiasm and enjoyed some sunshine on the day, even if the end result wasn’t what they had hoped for.
Senior Division Soccer Boys/Mixed
On Tuesday the 12th of May an entire group of Year 11, senior boys went to DISC to play soccer. They had come out successful for the first couple games with some great goals scored by the boys, landing them in the final! The final was a hard fought match, but we unfortunately lost 2-1, with the opposing team scoring their second goal in the final 5 minutes of the game. The boys played hard, showing great skill, team work and support of one another throughout the day. Special acknowledgment to Antony for some absolutely incredible saves, that had even the opposing team clapping their hands. Well done boys!!
Senior Table Tennis

Division Cross Country
On May 19 we took a team of 86 Students to Bundoora Park to compete in Division Cross Country. The weather was cold and wet and the track was muddy in parts which is perfect conditions for Cross Country – not so great for spectators. The top 15 students from each age group go through to the Regionals which is being held in Kilmore on June 17. Our students had a great day out with many of them qualifying to go through to the Regionals.
Yr 9/10 Girls AFL
On Thursday 21st of May the Year 9 and 10 inter-school footy took place at CT Barling Reserve. Lila, Tia and I were the coaches for Northcote's girls team. We went into the morning preparing to face Preston High. Lily Ballard and Heidi Burgess were a key duo in our mid and forward line. Lily running past opponents with ease and kicking straight to forwards, who were ready for a goal. Heidi dominated all rucks, leaving no room for her opponent to touch the ball, their speed and strength duo was a great part of our team setup.
We ended the game with a big win of 82 to 12, with Lexi Henderson dominating the forward with 4 goals, Lily with 3, and Simona with 2. Our second and last game was against Thornbury. It was a much closer game, but Northcote took the win! Beating Thornbury 37 to 31. Tilly Wain and Stella Ryan stepped up to be great teammates and players, attacking the ball aggressively. They moved around the ground all day and had no problem dominating any positions they were put in! The year 9 and 10 girls' team, had a fantastic day and are off to regionals!

Yr 9/10 Badminton
Our Year 9/10 Badminton Teams delivered an impressive performance at Division Badminton held at the Darebin Community Sports Centre. Throughout the day, students represented the school with pride both on and off the court. They competed with determination and resilience, while also demonstrating strong teamwork by supporting their peers and assisting with scoring duties between matches.
Notably, the Boys A Team remained undefeated throughout their pool matches to finish on top of the ladder and secure a place in the final against Reservoir High School. Although they were defeated in the final, the match featured a number of high quality rallies and fiercely contested points against a very strong opponent.
