Principal's Message

This week is National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared history, learn from First Nations voices, and strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community. This year’s theme, “All In,” is a call for everyone to actively participate in reconciliation through everyday actions, conversations, learning, and respect. It reminds us that reconciliation is a shared responsibility and that meaningful change happens when individuals, workplaces, schools, and communities commit to listening, understanding, and working together toward a more inclusive and united future.

School Captains, along with SRC and Culture and Diversity Captains attended Whitehorse City Council’s National Sorry Day event, which brought the local community together to acknowledge and reflect on the history and ongoing impact of the Stolen Generations on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The event included Welcome to Country, smoking ceremony, speeches and opportunities for learning and connection, encouraging everyone to support reconciliation and understanding.

Year4 Gala Day

Students represented our school at the Winter Gala Day round robin competition. Throughout the day, teams participated in Netball, T-Ball, Soccer, and AFL 9’s against other local schools.

The day provided an opportunity for students to develop their skills, build friendships, and enjoy participating in a range of sporting activities. We were extremely proud of the positive attitude and effort shown by all students, both on and off the field. Well done Grade 4's.

Throughout the conference, I attended a range of informative sessions and workshops focusing on important topics in education.

These included Victorian Teaching and Learning Model, trauma-informed practice, and First Nations perspectives and inclusion in schools. The presentations highlighted ways schools can create positive learning environments, support student wellbeing, and strengthen inclusive practices for all students.

Dates for Your Diary

Please note that there will be a Curriculum Day on Friday 5th June, with students not required to attend school on this day. OSHC will run a service this day for families requiring care. To book, log in to your Parent Portal and select the Pupil Free Day Room.

This will be followed by the King’s Birthday Public Holiday on Monday 8th June.

Enjoy the weekend.
