Year 7

With Term 3 reports distributed last week, our Year 7 students have taken time to reflect on their progress through structured report reflections. This week’s Parent Student Teacher Conferences offered a valuable opportunity for meaningful conversations between students, families, and teachers. These discussions have helped students recognise their achievements, understand areas for growth, and set clear, proactive goals. It’s been a great chance for our Year 7’s to take ownership of their learning as they prepare to finish the year strong in Term 4.

As our Year 7 students approach their final term of their first year at Wyndham Central College, it’s been wonderful to witness how much they’ve grown since starting as fresh faces at the beginning of the year. Term 4 promises to bring both challenges and opportunities, and we’re confident our Year 7 cohort is ready to meet them with enthusiasm and resilience. We will continue to work together to ensue everyone upholds the college values of Respect, Co-operation and Excellence.

With the weather expected to be warmer next term, students will again start wearing their summer uniform. For students who need assistance with the correct uniform, please ask your child to speak to their tutor teacher or a member of student services.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support. Working in partnership with families is a vital part of what makes our school a strong and connected place to learn and grow.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 7

As we reach the end of a busy and rewarding term, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the highlights that brought our school community together through learning, creativity, and fun.

We began with Multicultural Week, a vibrant celebration of the rich diversity in our school community. Students and families shared traditions, stories, and performances, reminding us of the importance of inclusivity. For our Year 7s, this was a chance to connect with peers and celebrate the unique cultural backgrounds they bring to our year level.

Science Week sparked curiosity and wonder as students engaged in hands-on experiments, problem-solving challenges, and fascinating investigations. Our Year 7 students embraced the excitement, particularly enjoying interactive activities that encouraged teamwork and built their confidence as young scientists.

Book Week inspired us to embrace the joy of reading and storytelling with staff bringing their favourite characters to life through creative costumes. For Year 7s, it was a chance to showcase their enthusiasm for reading, and many shared their favourite novels, participated in a range activities like black out poetry in the library.

Finally, Night at the Museum was an unforgettable evening where learning truly came alive. Students show cased projects, exhibits, and performances that highlighted their hard work and passion for learning. Our Year 7 cohort impressed the leaders, parents and carers with their displays on Ancient Rome, Landscapes and Aboriginal Torres Islander culture.

As the term closes, we are proud of everything our students have achieved and grateful for the support of families and staff who made these events possible. For our Year 7s, this term has been about building friendships, discovering new opportunities, and becoming a valued part of the wider school community. We look forward to another term of growth, celebration, and connection.

Have an amazing Term break.
