Student Voice &
Positive Environment
As we come to the end of another vibrant term, it's important to reflect not just on academic progress, but on the ways our students have continued to shape their own learning journeys through student voice and agency. This term has been a powerful reminder that when students are given the opportunity to contribute, lead, and take ownership of their education, the entire school community thrives.
From student-led assemblies at year 7, this term has seen a rise in student-led initiatives that reflect what matters most to our learners. Through surveys and informal feedback, students have been actively sharing their perspectives on curriculum choices, wellbeing initiatives, and school culture. Their insights have directly influenced changes in classroom practice, enrichment opportunities, and even aspects of school policy.
Our SRC has continued to meet regularly and are ensuring they are expressing the collective voice of their year level each time they meet. The members have also had an opportunity to meet with like-minded students from other schools in the area at the Joanne Ryan MP Forum which occurred on the 11th of September. The SRC spent time at the forum working with other schools in identifying issues that affect not just our young people but our community as a whole and provided their ideas to Joanne Ryan.
The students represented Wyndham Central College with pride. Below are some photos from the day:
As we head into the break, we celebrate a term where student voice and agency have not been just educational buzzwords, but lived values across our school. We are proud of the way our students are stepping up—not just as learners, but as leaders. Because when students are empowered to speak, act, and lead, we all grow stronger together.
