Year 10, 11 & 12

Assistant Principal's Report
As we approach the end of term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and commitment shown by our students in Years 10, 11 and 12. This is a crucial stage in their learning journey and the habits they are building now will shape both their immediate outcomes and their future pathways.
Year 12 students, this is the final stretch of their schooling with internal exams commencing from the 6 – 10 October (week 1, term 4) and the VCAA Year 12 externally assessed exams commence on the 28 October, we wish them good luck with their final results.
The coming weeks are about consolidating knowledge, staying organised and focused and preparing for their examinations and the completion of all final outcomes. We encourage Year 12 students to maintain healthy routines, balance study with rest, and seek support from teachers when needed.
Year 11 students are preparing for their transition into Year 12 with exams commencing from the 5-12 November and Step into Year 12 starting on the 17 November. Consistency and commitment now will ensure they enter Year 12 well-prepared and motivated.
Year 10 students subject selection provided a valuable chance to reflect on interests, strengths and future aspirations. The decisions made at this stage begin to shape possible pathways beyond school and we are here to guide and support through the process.
Year 10 students commerce their exams on the 6 -12 November and begin their Step Up into Year 11 on the 17 November.
Across all senior year levels, attendance, engagement and communication are key.
Regular attendance ensures continuity of learning, while open conversations between home and school help us to provide the best support for each student.
I encourage all students to remain focused, set achievable goals and remember that effort and persistence are as important as natural ability. Parents and carers, thank you for the encouragement and guidance you provide, it makes an enormous difference.
Together, we can ensure our students finish the year with a sense of achievement and pride in their efforts.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 10
We received some wonderful feedback from employers after student’s work experience, which was a real pleasure to read. It was really clear that the students were an absolute credit to themselves and the school and should be congratulated on the mature way they engaged with work. I know for many it has led to job offers, whilst others gained valuable skills and experience.
We’d also like to congratulate a number of students who participated in various sporting events over the last month or so. They achieved some incredible results, including medalling at world events. These results show the talent and dedication of our students and should be celebrated.
All year 10 students had the opportunity to participate in a study session run by Elevate which will give them important tips and information as students build towards their exams next term. Exams will begin in week 5 of next term, which will come around very quickly. Students should be thinking about their revision plans and how best to prepare. This will become even more relevant over the next couple of years, whichever pathway they have chosen.
At the end of the year, year 10's will have an excursion to O’Briens Icehouse and Art Vo. This is a great chance to learn some new skills and celebrate the big year that they have had. More information will be provided soon.
Students are also busy arranging a well-being activity for their peers which will take place next term. This will be another opportunity to celebrate the year and participate in some fun or relaxing activities of their choice.
It has been a fantastic and busy term 3 all round and we hope that everyone gets the chance to relax and recharge their batteries before ending year 10 next term and stepping up into year 11 for the last 2 weeks of their year.

Year 11 Progress
Students have continued to make excellent progress in their VCE studies as they approach the end of their first year as VCE students. Their dedication and hard work throughout this challenging year have been evident in both their achievements and personal growth. At the recent Senior Years Assembly, we had the pleasure of recognising students who demonstrated outstanding levels of excellence, commitment, and determination in their studies. These students set a strong example for their peers through their consistent effort, focus, and pursuit of academic success. I would also like to congratulate all students who have shown ongoing dedication and engagement in their classes.
Term 3 Reports
Term 3 reports have now been distributed to students. During WYNtime, students had the opportunity to reflect on their achievements and set new goals for the term ahead. We encourage families and carers to take some time to review these reports, which are also available on Compass. The reports provide a clear overview of each student’s subject performance, assessment results, attendance, overall achievements, and homework completion.
Progression into Year 12
To progress into Year 12, students must successfully complete at least 9 out of 12 Year 11 units (Units 1 & 2), including Units 1 & 2 English. Any outstanding coursework or redemption tasks should be completed over the holidays so that students are ready to begin Term 4 with confidence. Families and carers are encouraged to contact teachers if they have any questions about incomplete work or would like guidance on how to best support their child in achieving a satisfactory (‘S’) grade in the required subjects.

Wyndham Central College Exams
The school will be running internal Year 12 exams from 6th – 10th October in the college gymnasium. These exams will be conducted under full exam conditions and supervised by external supervisors to help students prepare for the external VCAA exams at the end of the year. Ms. Siragusano will continue to support all students throughout this process. If you have any questions, please contact her via the College office.
Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) Information
Recently, Deakin University ambassadors presented to our students about the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).
