Your family might like to make a donation to this worthy cause and learn the song together. It is hoped we can raise $250 by the end of term.  https://buskingforchange.ilf.org.au/o/donvale-primary-school

At one of our assemblies later this term we will "busk" the song as a whole school!

The Grade 3/4 Hand Drum Team, made up of 12 students, has been preparing two pieces for the Week 8 Assembly. The group has been practising steadily and is looking forward to sharing their music with the school community.

G1/2 Chinese – Rock, Paper, Scissors

Our Grade 1/2 students are currently exploring the topic Classroom Objectives. As part of this unit, they are learning the vocabulary for scissors, rock, and paper through the well-known game Rock, Paper, Scissors—but with a twist! In Chinese, the sequence is Scissors, Rock, Paper. Students have been playing in two lines, challenging the “King” or “Queen” at the front of their row to practise the new words in an engaging way.

Parents of Grade 1/2 students may like to try playing this game at home in Chinese with their children, using jiandao (scissors), shitou (rock), and bu (paper).
