Principal's Report 

 We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people. May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Open Morning

We are looking forward to welcoming our families to join us for the Book Week Parade next Monday morning and even more importantly, joining us in classrooms to celebrate and engage in literacy learning. Staff and students are very excited to welcome our school community into our learning spaces - see you next Monday!

Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Survey

WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK! 

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. 

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Thursday 21 August to Friday 19 September 2025. All families are invited to participate in the survey, with one survey to be completed per household.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

Further information will be emailed directly to families tomorrow morning. We look forward to all of our families taking the opportunity to have their voices heard and considered.

School Council Community Meeting

The Miners Rest Primary School School Council Community Meeting is being held on September 8 at 7:00 pm.

This is an open meeting for any of our school community to attend - we look forward to welcoming any interested parents/caregivers/guardians.

Start and Finish Times at School

This is a friendly reminder to all of our families that our learning commences in classrooms at 8:55 am every day. Children are welcome onsite to engage in readiness for learning, in classrooms from 8:45 am. 

Collection of children at the end of the day is at 3:20 pm, with supervision of children finishing promptly at 3:35 pm.

For families that are unable to deliver children within the timeframe of 8:45 and 8:55 am, or collect promptly at the end of the day, we do offer a very supportive Out of School Hours Care Service.

We very much appreciate your support and understanding on the importance of collection times and attendance at school.
