From the Classroom - D5 (Miss Muller)

Over the past week in Mathematics, we have been learning about capacity. We have used rice, sand, unifix blocks, water and cotton balls to measure and compare the capacity of different containers. It was lots of fun! We are now revisiting 'data' and have started our mornings with a daily question where the students respond and then we collect, sort and graph the data.
In Science, we have also been learning about the features of plants, seeds and animals and were privileged to be a part of a science incursion with Ecolinc. We joined a video conference and got to talk to an expert from the Great Barrier Reef team who showed us lots of great photos and videos of some of the things that live under water.
We also had lots of fun starting off our 2025 Book Week! We started the week with an exciting scavenger hunt and had some rotations where the year six students organised some craft activities based on the short-listed books for this year.
