Welcome to Week 5, Term 3 – Newsletter Update

We are excited to kick off another fantastic week of learning and fun here at Leongatha Primary! This week is especially exciting as we celebrate Children’s Book Week, which promises to be filled with creative activities, inspiring reading experiences, and, of course, our beloved Book Week Parade

Important Events and Activities This Week:

1. Children’s Book Week (Monday - Friday):This week, we celebrate the joy of reading and the power of stories! Throughout the week, students will enjoy a variety of activities including:

• Classroom Readings: Teachers will be reading a selection of wonderful children’s books, both new releases and timeless classics.
• Creative Activities: Expect to get creative with book-themed art, writing, and interactive lessons based on the stories we love.

• Book Recommendations: Students will have the opportunity to recommend their favourite books to friends and classmates

   

2. Book Week Parade (Friday Morning):The highlight of the week will be the Children’s Book Week Parade on Friday morning! Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character. Whether it’s from a picture book, chapter book, or even a graphic novel—show off your costume and share the magic of books with the school community

The parade will take place first thing in the morning, and we can't wait to see all the creative costumes. There will be prizes for the most imaginative and well-executed costumes

3. Finally, wishing the G6 girls State AFL 9s team at Bundoora all the best and every success in the state finals – go team!
