Week 6 Wrap Up!
What a great week! This week in the kitchen, the children enjoyed making delicious lemon slices. Everyone got involved in measuring, mixing, and layering the ingredients to create a sweet and tangy treat. The best part was getting to share and taste their creations together, the slices were a big hit and the kids were proud of their efforts in the kitchen!
Our food highlights this week were just as exciting, with a wide variety on offer for both breakfast and afternoon tea. Breakfast club served up tasty options including cinnamon apple muffins, French toast, croissants, cheese toasties, and waffles, which kept everyone energised for the day ahead. Snack Squad kept things warm and comforting with garlic bread and tomato soup, butter (chicken) potatoes and rice, pizza scrolls, and tomato pasta. To end the week, we celebrated Sophie’s goodbye party with a range of fun party food, sharing lots of laughs and happy memories with her before she's off to her new teaching position!
The children also had plenty of fun with creative and physical activities throughout the week. Arts and crafts included painting, watercolouring, Hama beads, air-dry clay, shrink paper, and chalk drawing, which encouraged imagination and creativity. Our science-inspired experiments were a highlight too, with the children making oobleck and homemade playdough. To balance out the creativity, there were lots of opportunities for physical play, from group games in the hall and footy on the oval to exploring the senior playground and competitive rounds of gagaball!
Goodbye Sophie!
This week we said a special goodbye to Sophie, who is stepping into a casual role with OSHClub as she focuses on her new teaching position! Sophie has been such a wonderful part of our service, always bringing her kindness, energy, and care to the children and families. While we will miss seeing her on a regular basis, we are so excited for her as she begins this next chapter.
To celebrate, we held a fun farewell party filled with laughter, games, and of course plenty of delicious food. The children enjoyed helping set up the party, sharing stories, and making sure Sophie had a memorable send-off. We wish her all the best in her new role and know that she’ll continue to bring her warmth and creativity wherever she goes!

We are responsible for all children booked into our care. If a child does not arrive after school care when booked in to attend, we will need to confirm the whereabouts of the child by contacting parents/guardians and emergency contacts. If we cannot successfully do this, it then becomes a missing child incident.
As you can imagine, this can be very stressful!
