Relieving Principal's Message

From the Desk of Liselle Abbott - Term 3, Week 7

Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,

We are now in the second half of Term 3, and all students are well engaged in learning.

Changes to Staff in Term 3

Mrs Nott is currently on long service leave and will remain so until the end of Term 3. We wish Mrs Nott a well-deserved break and look forward to her return in Term 4.  I will be stepping in as Relieving Principal, Miss Hannah Overell will be stepping in as APC&I and Mrs Deb Kelly will be taking on 2/3O for the remainder of the term.

Behaviour Focus

Our behaviour focus for Week 7 is Safe,

We are learning to:

  • Recognise and know what to do when bullying happens

What does it look and sound like:

  • Tell them to stop and walk away - No, Go, Tell
  • Keep yourself safe and don't react (You have a right to be safe)
  • Tell a teacher
  • Tell a friend
  • Be resilient

Congratulations to our Turn Up Award winners for Week 6.  You will receive a voucher to use at the school canteen.

Our winners were:

SASS Appreciation Week

This week we celebrate our wonderful SASS staff who assist us in all aspects of school life. Thank you to our office staff Ms Schumann and Mrs Woods and our SLSO staff Ms Toone, Mrs Pearson, Ms Saunders and Mr Wilson.  Also, thank you to Mr Peach our AEO and Mr Durrant our General Assistant. Our support staff are a great asset to our school, and we appreciate you.  Thank you to the P&C for organising an afternoon tea to celebrate our staff.

Congratulations Lachy

Congratulations to Lachy who spent last week competing with the Northwest Soccer team at the State competition in Coffs Harbour.  We are very proud of you Lachy.

Northwest Regional Athletics

We wish those students competing in the Northwest Regional Athletics tomorrow all the best and good luck in your chosen events. We look forward to hearing about your experience on your return to school.

Capers

Capers is fast approaching.  Our staff and students will be attending rehearsals in the coming weeks leading up to the performances on Friday, 7th and Saturday, 8th November. We have three entries into Capers this year being, Choir, Cultural Dance and the Small Schools Performance.  Each entry has different rehearsal times and dates. Our Choir will be heading to Tamworth tomorrow to begin their rehearsals.   Next Wednesday, 10th September our whole school will be travelling to the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre to join other small schools in rehearsals.  Our Cultural Dancers will head to Tamworth next Thursday, 11th September to begin their rehearsals. We will be providing transport for all rehearsals, and we ask that all students arrive to school by 8:30am to ensure we arrive at the TREC on time.  Please note this is very important as we must abide by the Capers schedule. All students should now have provided the school with their costumes for Capers.  If you have not already done so, could you please ensure that your child's costume is sent into school ASAP. Please look to the Important Information & Events Tab on this newsletter for details on what is required.

Kind regards
