Global Leadership Summit

The Global Leadership Summit was a conference organised by Next Gen and attended by students from schools all across Victoria, including the Year 9 and 10 Faith Leadership Team and the Student Representative Council.
The event was led by students from different schools who ran activities to teach us what it means to be a leader and how to work together in leadership.
We also heard from five speakers from around the world. They shared messages about the influence we have and the positive impact we can make on others. They spoke about the attitudes we bring to leadership, the importance of building healthy habits that shape who we become, and how comparison can destroy both confidence and relationships. We learnt that confidence comes from stepping out of our comfort zone, and that it’s important to give ourselves permission to grow.
A man from World Vision also spoke to us about the work they do. He told us about the 40 Hour Famine and how giving something up—like technology or furniture—for 40 hours and getting sponsored can help raise money to provide food and safety for people living in really tough conditions.
Overall, the summit was a really inspiring experience that challenged us to think differently about leadership and how we can make a positive difference in the world.
